GROUP PROGRAM for 2023
  Blue Mountains Group has a varied program.   Unless otherwise advised all meetings and activities are held in the Information Centre, Glenbrook Native Plants Reserve, Great Western Highway, Glenbrook

Regular activities

  Bushcare Group at the Reserve

  Meets on the first and third Saturday of each month (except January) 9 am till noon.

  Wednesday Group

  Meets each Wednesday noon till 4 pm

Other Activities for 2023

  Clean Up Australia Day

  Saturday 5 March
  9am
  Meeting Point: Outside the gates of the Glenbrook Native Plant Reserve.

  We will concentrate our clean up around the outside perimeter of the Glenbrook Native Plant Reserve.
  We will have a sausage sizzle at the end of the event.

  General meeting

  Wenesday 15th March
  10.30 am
  At the reserve.
  Agenda includes:
  1. Social media for the Nursery & Reserve

  3. Time of Christmas get-together

  Springwood Rainforest Garden Visit

  Sunday 26th March
  10 am
  There are just under 80 species established.
  Two sections that are 20 plus years old and three sections that were planted in 2019 or later.
  This gives a good overview of how long different species take to grow.

  Orgaiser Alix Coodwin
  Peter Ridgeway will speak about his multi-day walk through remnant bushland on the Cumberland Plain. Peter travelled 179 kilometres through open woodlands, native grasslands and wetlands and what is one of the least-known landscapes in Australia.

  One day APS NSW Gathering

Nocturnal Safari of the Glenbrook Nature Reserve

  Wednesday 20 September, 2023
  Leader: Ecologist Tom Covell from Hooked on Nature.
  The tour will include torches for 20 participants, bat detectors, UV insect light traps, and invertebrate testing of the creek if there is water.
  The cost of the night walk will be $20.00 per BM APS member (only adults can join the tour).
  This is the first formal ecological survey and walk of the Reserve for nocturnal activities and species.
  Because the numbers are limited BM APS is calling for an Expression of Interest from members who may wish to attend.
  (If more than 20 people apply we will draw names from a hat in early September and then notify all applicants. We can also organise another walk in future if it proves to be very popular.)
