Australian Plant Society Blue Mountains GroupGlenbrook Native Plant Nursery & Glenbrook Native Plant ReserveOur reserve has 270 species of native plants. 80 species are enrichment plantings of the Blue Mountains. It has been the home of the Australian Plant Society Blue Mountains Group since 1966.
We meet at the Glenbrook Native Plant Reserve, Great Western Highway, opposite the Glenbrook Tourist Information Centre.
If you are interested in Australian Native Plants, and want to learn more about Blue Mountains Flora, then come and join us, and make some new friends with similar interests to your own. Our activities include:
- Interesting monthly meetings with expert guest speakers: topics have included Local Provenance, Rain Forest Plants, Bush Tucker, Ferns, Bush Orchids, Eucalypts, Garden Design and Seed Germination
- Propagation activities and training for members, led by experts every Wednesday
- Our Nursery is community based and run by member volunteers
- Sales of native plants at good prices with member discounts
- Regular bush walks of different grades
- Organised garden and nursery appreciation tours
- Access to an excellent reference library
- Bus trips at very reasonable prices for members
- Annual Seminar with internationally recognised speakers
- Educational workshops throughout the year
- Fair / Open Day that showcases our Reserve in its springtime splendour
- Friendly social events, including our Christmas BBQ
Our Monthly Meeting Details:1st Friday of the month in summer months at 8pm 1st Sunday of the month in winter months at 10am Next Meeting:Friday December 5: Christmas Barbecue Membership & Contact information:You are welcome to pick up a Membership Application Form from the Nursery / Reserve when it is open.
Open to the Public: Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday 12 noon to 4pm.
